World Marine AtoN Day

At the 13th General Assembly of 29th May 2018 it was decided to establish the World Day of Marine Aids to Navigation (World Marine AtoN Day) the 1st July each year, bearing in mind that this is the date of the creation of IALA, with the first celebration in 2019. The principal objective is to promote greater awareness of IALA and its work by bringing to the attention of the wider public the role of Marine Aids to Navigation and the significance of IALA’s technical work in enhancing the safety of navigation worldwide. The General Assembly approved the establishment of a World Marine Aids to Navigation Day and adopted the associated Resolution A13-04.
