Care should be taken when downsampling AIS data to be used in IWRAP.
The interval between AIS data fixes should not be more than 6 minutes for moving vessels.
Ideally the downsampling interval should not be less that the time it takes for a vessel to pass through the smallest route leg in your model
If you need to downsample your dataset, a maximum of 1 minute intervals is preferable.
It is not recommended to downsample AIS data to intervals exceeding 6 minutes.
