Save the date for upcoming webinars!
The World-Wide Academy (WWA) is organizing a series of technical webinars, open to all safety of navigation stakeholders, to address some of the challenges Marine Aids to Navigation (AtoN) service providers are facing. There was one on the provision of AtoN in French speaking Africa held in November and several to come in January and February.
All those who are interested in contributing a presentation as part of these webinars are welcome to contact Mrs Gerardine Delanoye, WWA Capacity Building and Resources Manager, via: gerardine.delanoye@iala-aism.org at the earliest opportunity.
Each session will include one or more presentations delivered by experts from the IALA community. Participants will then be given an opportunity to ask questions and join the discussion.
These are the topics and dates planned so far for the new year:
14 January 2021:
AtoN Remote Monitoring – Effective performance monitoring during COVID-19 and after.
28 January 2021:
Buoy Moorings – Results of recent buoy mooring trials in Belize waters.
11 February 2021:
AtoN Light Characters – Selecting a suitable light character.
25 February 2021:
AtoN Maintenance – Reducing total cost of ownership.
In addition, a webinar on 7 January 2021 will present the newly approved publications, as decided by the Council earlier this month (C72, 8-10 December 2020).
The exact times at which the webinars will be held, and the joining links, will be posted on the IALA website (https://www.iala.int/news-events/news/) in due course.
